Jesus Did Not Teach The Doctrine of Original Sin.
Proof from his own words.I discovered something last night through the Scriptures and wanted to share it with you. Note the following passages of Scripture very carefully.
"And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him." -John 9:1-3
If there is one thing we need to get straight, it would be the difference between what the Pharisees taught and what Jesus taught. So much of what the Pharisees taught was not in tradition with the Scriptures. They revoked God's word by their tradition making the word of God of none effect (Mark 7:13). Judaism taught that a man could be born in sin. The disciples learned this teaching as well, and when they came upon the man who was born blind from birth they asked Jesus, "...Who did sin, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? The Pharisees taught that a fetus could sin. They are the ones who taught this awful doctrine. After questioning the blind man who could now see, they said to him, "You were born entirely in sin." (John 9:34). However, Jesus DID NOT teach this awful doctrine handed down from Judaism. When the disciples asked Jesus about the man who was blind from birth whether it was he or his parents who sinned, Jesus said, "NEITHER."
Like the Pharisees of old, we have those who followed in their tradition and have been teaching this awful doctrine since. Augustine and Calvin followed the way of the Pharisees, and this teaching is held by the majority of Christianity today. In fact, if you dare question this doctrine and prove that it's false, some see the truth, praise God, but the reaction of others is no different than the reactions of the Pharisees in Jesus' time.
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? -Gal. 4:16
How long will you revoke God's word by this tradition making the word of God of none effect?
