ETERNAL
SECURITY
Can one be eternally secure and go on sinning?
“But I’m “But I’m certain I’m not deceived!” you say. Do you
realize that is what every
deceived
person would claim? Deceived people don’t realize
they’re
deceived—otherwise they would no longer be
deceived. Better to say,
“I may be deceived, and if I am, I want to
know it.”

(Please read the above first before you

According to the Bible, either one is
saved or he is not. He either has God as his spiritual Father, or the
devil as his spiritual father (John 8:44). The Bible is clear
that we are saved by grace (Eph. 2:8,), but we can
also fall
from grace (Gal. 5:2-4). We are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1),
but that it's also possible for a believer's faith to be
shipwrecked (1 Tim.1:19,20), cease to exist (Luke 8:13; Rom.
11:19-23), go back to following satan (1 Tim. 5:13-15), and
depart from
the faith (1 Tim.
4:1). And though we are not under the law (Rom. 6:14,15), the one
who lives after the flesh will die (Rom. 8:13).
We have freedom in
Christ (Gal. 5:1), but this freedom doesn't mean you can indulge the flesh
(Gal. 5:13; 1 Peter 2:16).
We should speak against legalism, just as Paul
(Gal. 5:3,4), but we are also told that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor
covetous man,
who is an idolater, will inherit the kingdom of Christ and of God (Eph. 5:5-7;
see also Gal. 5:19-21 and 1 Cor. 6:9-10).
No one is saved by works (Eph.
2:8,9) but to
reap eternal life one must sow to please the Spirit and not the flesh (Gal.
6:8,9).
God will always be faithful to us (1 John 1:9; 1 Cor. 10:13), but
we must remain faithful to him, unto death, to escape the second death
(Rev. 2:10,11). There's no question that God loves us (Jn. 3:16; Mk.
10:21; Rom. 8:35-39), but do we love him? Only those who
love
God will inherit the kingdom of God (James 2:5; 1 Cor. 2:9).
Loving God is not just a mental assent, to love God means
we obey
his commandments (John 14:15; 1 John
5:3).
The True Meaning of Spiritual
Death
The Bible never says a spirit can die. A demonic spirit cannot die, an angelic spirit cannot die,
nor can a human spirit die. So if one wants to talk about spiritual death and use that term, we should
define what it does mean so there is less confusion. In a truer sense, to be spiritually dead means
being totally out of touch with God and righteousness.

The Myth of Imputation
(The twisted view as preached
today.)
The people are predisposed to
accept some form of ‘imputation’ because they are constantly told that
no
one is perfect, everyone
sins all the time and their behavior will not effect the outcome of their
salvation. What
possible
incentive is there for holy living or whole-hearted obedience to God under such
a system? If your sins are
forgiven in advance you certainly won’t have any abhorrence in committing
them (even willfully) in fact you will have a
natural tendency to sin more blatantly than before
because God has ALREADY forgiven you ahead of time.

(Webmaster's note. I believe in eternal security as this gentleman does. The point is unconditional eternal security vs. conditional eternal security.)
Excerpt from Eternal Security and Logic:
"If you live out the doctrine of eternal security and find yourself standing before God only to find out that you were wrong, then you have everything to lose. If you live out your life believing that eternal security is false, and you aspire to live a holy life and find out in heaven that you were wrong about Eternal Security, you are safe because you were unconditionally secure and did not know it!"
From the standpoint of logic alone it does not make sense to believe in eternal security and deny that God has enabled us to walk in a manner pleasing to Him. If you teach Eternal Security to others and they find out when they stand before the Judgment Seat of God that the wages of their sin is still death, you will have their blood on your hands! My friend, you have nothing to gain from believing Eternal Security; there is no virtue in believing a lie!
The irony of it all, is that the content of the letters I receive from those who disagree with me on this matter is that they chime out with accusations of salvation by "works" and charges of "legalism." Bitter rebukes and suggestions that I am "lost" are strewn throughout these letters. The irony of this is that these are from those who believe in Eternal Security! They act as if you can commit adultery, abuse drugs, rape and murder, and still be a child of God! But yet, if you contend for holiness and living a godly life, you are lost and not Eternally Secure! According to the Bible, the sin of legalism is just as damning as license! But from the logic of Eternal Security, it is faith in their doctrine, and not Christ, that saves you! This is proven by the fact that they do not believe their own doctrine by claiming that a Legalist is lost! According to their doctrine, wouldn't the Legalist be just as secure as the one who wallows in license? I used to believe in Eternal Security but I don’t anymore; doesn't this mean that I would still be "eternally" secure, even if I became an ardent Legalist according to the logic of this doctrine? It is of the utmost hypocrisy to say that we can commit the most heinous crimes and be safe and secure, and at the same time, treat those that love God and feel obligated to obey Him as enemies of the cross! If Eternal Security were true, then the different attitudes towards legalism and license should not matter, for they are both sins. If these people really believed in Eternal Security they would have never written to condemn me!
Based on logic, the greatest possible position of assurance and security for the believer is to be in opposition to Eternal Security!
