Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear
now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways
which are not fair? When a righteous man turns away from his
righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the
iniquity which he has done that he dies. Again, when a wicked man turns
away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful
and right, he preserves himself alive. Because he considers and turns
away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely
live; he shall not die. Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of
the Lord is not fair.’ O house of Israel, is it not My ways
which are fair, and your ways which are not fair? Ezk. 18:25-29
The entire professing Church System claims that it's God's
job to clean you up and stop the sin. So instead of going out and
telling people to 'go and sin no more' we should tell them rather,
'WAIT' for God to stop you and then go. Now when the sin doesn't stop,
as is SOP in the Churches, whose fault is it? Obviously, it's God who
is supposed to change your sinful desires from naughty to nice. Since
man is born morally depraved, corrupted in nature by sin, his will
disable the only explanation for ongoing sin and moral decay in our
society is placing the blame on God, who allowed man to be reduced to
this despicable state to begin with. Thus the only thing that makes
sense under such a situation is to make some kind of special
'arrangement' to save man in his fallen state and declare him righteous
in God's sight by proxy. Otherwise, it would be unfair to ask him to do
anything right and just, when he has been rendered incapable by birth!
Therefore instead of preaching repentance and faith proven by deeds as shown in the Bible, we have heretics like Paul Washer running around saying things like this:
Because you need to realize the Bible says, For all have sinned
and come short of the glory of God, and you have no idea what that
means, that we were born radically depraved and God-hating, that we
would have never sought God, never come to God. We have rebelled
against God, and broken every law. It’s not just an issue that
you have sinned. The issue is you’ve never done anything but
sinned.” [15:09-15:30 Shocking Youth Message]
How
can one expect a person labeled as a 'sinner,' inherently born in a
state of radical depravity and 'God-hating,' to perform actions that
are virtuous or just? It becomes an insurmountable task for such an
individual to produce deeds worthy of repentance, given that their life
has been marked by nothing but sin. The sole remedy for such a
condition, according to the perspective outlined, lies in Unconditional
Election and Irresistible Grace. In this view, God must choose and
effectively call those individuals whom He has known, from the very
foundation of the world, will turn to Him—not by their own
willpower, but through His selection, overriding their inherent
inability to respond. It's noteworthy that this individual is perceived as a 'holiness' preacher yet
he knows NOTHING about the nature of man or the process of repentance
and faith. The Bible says 'God made man upright, but he sought out many
schemes' Ecc. 7:29. The fact that he may have sinned is not proof
he is no longer capable of obeying and coming clean with God. Scripture
constantly commands him to do so:
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you
double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned
to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of
the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:8-10
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of
wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able
to save your souls. But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves. James 1:21-22
Under such as 'Washer's gospel' how could anyone
even put forth the effort to 'Draw near to God' and actually come clean
as the passage says? What could motivate a 'God hater' to lay aside his
filthiness and overflow of wickedness other than Election and Irresistible Grace?
He can't come clean, obey or DO anything until God does it for him, so
you may as well tell the dog to purify its heart and stop being
double-minded! Can you see how God gets the blame here? Where else
could it lay but on Him if what these heretics like Washer say is true?
If we go about telling our friends and family members they must stop
sinning before they can approach God seeking His mercy, we are the
worst hypocrites in history! Yet all we're doing is taking the Bible at
face value instead of 'twisting' it into some nonsensical system of
doctrine that renders repentance null and void.
Here's Washer's version of repentance:
"You were saved because you repented of your sins and you
believed, and not only did you do that in the past, you continued to do
it even until now, because when Jesus proper translation of that verse
He gave is this: The Kingdom of God is come. The time is fulfilled.
Now, spend the rest of your lives repenting of your sins and believing
in Me."
'Spend the rest of your life repenting!' WHERE is that in
the Bible??? True repentance is a once-and-for-all experience NOT to be
repeated Rom. 6:6,
"Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him,
that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer
be slaves of sin."
WAS Crucified,
the text says, past tens. The 'body of sin' is DONE away with
here, slavery to sin to broken. You don't repent for the rest of your
life trying to break free from something that was put to death in the
initial act of repentance. In Acts 26:18 the Gospel was to open their
eyes in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power
of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an
inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ.
If sin and bondage is darkness and a person is
brought from that darkness to light in repentance, what remains to be
repented of? He who sins is of the devil (Jh. 8:34, 1Jh.3:7-8), he is a
slave to sin in need of repentance. Those in Christ 'sin not' 1Jh.
5:18, through faith working by love in the power of His grace they KEEP
themselves from wickedness! (Gal. 5:6, Titus 2:11) Obedience to the
truth purifies the heart of Sin and keeps it pure as He is pure. (1Pet.
1:22, 1Jh. 3:3)
Heretics like Washer say: 'Now, am I saying that a
Christian is without sin? No, because, in First John, we learn that
Christians do sin, and if any man does not acknowledge his sin, he
knows not God'
In other words, if I'm 'sinning, I know for sure I know
God, but if I'm NOT sinning, made pure by obedience to the truth, I
DON'T know Him and I'm lost for sure! Does that make sense to you? How
about we determine whether or not be Know Him by this:
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His
commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep
His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1John 2:3-4
Shouldn't the 'Christian be measured by this
standard rather than 'sin'? He commanded us to 'Go and Sin no more!' Jh
5:14, 8:11. By His standard we know for sure that if we're sinning,
then we are liars and have no truth in us. Is it really of any wonder
why most of the world looks at Christianity with such disdain? WHO in
their right mind could see God as entirely FAIR and impartial under
such a System as moral depravity, human inability and election? But
this is derived from man's delusions NOT from God. He set forth His
standard based on man's ability to choose between good and evil,
darkness and light. If he is 'willing and obedient' he will be accepted
by God, but if he 'refuses and rebels' he will perish in his sins. Isa.
1:19-20
From the very beginning, God revealed His fairness
to sinners by saying to Cain who had conceived hatred in his heart to
murder his brother Able, as he went forth God told him:
Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If
you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin
lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over
it.” Gen. 4:6-7
Under Washer's gospel, this would
be considered blasphemy, "NO ONE can rule over it," he would cry! But
as Able obtained witness that his DEEDS were righteous Heb. 11:4, Cain
refused to also do well and suffered the horrible consequences of his
actions. YOU also if you consider and turn away from all your
transgressions which you committed, you shall surely live; and shall
not die!
So ask yourself WHO is fair, heretics like Washer, or GOD
who gives everyone the SAME chance to turn and live, I think the answer
is more than obvious. He who covers his sins shall not prosper but
whoever confesses and forsakes them will find Mercy! Prov. 28:13
